Jaco Westhuizen is a versatile South African artist whose career spans over four decades of creative evolution. His journey began in 1978 with the Performing Arts of South Africa (PACT), laying a strong foundation in theatrical design.. In 1990, Jaco founded Studio World, specializing in high-level design, project management, and artwork for major establishments. His portfolio includes iconic venues such as the Lost City, Golden Horse Casino, and Monte Casino. His expertise also took him internationally, managing stage decor for the Miss World Pageant in the Seychelles, and undertaking projects in Dubai and London.

Having returned to South Africa in 2000, Jaco now operates as a full-time artist dedicated to painting, sculpting, and design. He brings a wealth of large-scale experience to his intimate studio practice, currently focusing on extensive commission work.

TIMELINE

MARCH 1978
Joined the Performing Arts of South Africa (PACT).
DECEMBER 1990
Founded my company, Studio World, specialising in design, project management, artwork and building projects for venues such as the Lost City, Golden Horse Casino, Monte Casino and numerous other establishments.
APRIL 1997
Managed the stag décor and props for the Miss Wold Pageant in Seychelles.
JANUARY 1998
Worked on projects in Dubai.
